Best Friends




It seems like a recent realization that Ben and Mia have become the best of friends. The belly laughs and giggles from our double trouble have grown exponentially lately. It's heart melting to hear it echo down the hallways of our home. We find ourselves tempted to sneak down and spy on the newest game they've invented but it somehow destroys their fun. So, we resist, relying only on our imaginations to guess what B's newest trick is.

One of our favorite games to witness is one Mia initiates at our bay window. While any time of day will suffice, Mia prefers the dark of evening to peer out into the darkness (really staring at her own reflection). B takes a matching spot at the opposite bay. Our little controlling Mia is all at Ben's mercy in this game, waiting for him to chirp his little line, and move into her spot. Her giggles are absolutely uncontrollable, which is mystifying while you watch. It's nothing. There's very little happening but watching our little girl's eyes light up while she plays with her brother is magical. And of course, they are the best of friends, except when they're grabbing toys and hitting and stealing binkies and slapping and...
